In a Nuzlocke run, knowing type matchups can mean the difference between your Pokémon surviving or being permanently lost. Before every major battle, check this chart to ensure you have the right type coverage against the opponent's team.
Super Effective (2×) means your attack does double damage. Not Very Effective (½×) means your attack does half damage. No Effect (0×) means the attack does nothing at all — for example, Normal-type moves cannot hit Ghost-type Pokémon.
Dual types multiply together. A move that is super effective against both types does 4× damage. A move that is not very effective against both types does only ¼× damage.
Ground is immune to Electric — This is one of the most important immunities. A Ground-type Pokémon completely walls any Electric-type gym leader.
Normal and Fighting vs Ghost — Normal and Fighting moves cannot touch Ghost types at all. Always have a Dark or Ghost-type move ready for Ghost-type opponents.
Ice is super effective against Dragon — Dragon types are powerful but they all fear Ice. If you have Ice Beam, you can handle most Dragon-type threats in the late game.
Check gym leader teams and plan your strategy.
